3) Be Kind
Words are so powerful that Yahweh used his words to create the Earth and the Heavens. Yahshua said, "For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matt. 12:37. So speak words of life into the other person, not words that curse or condemn. Don't be rude, but remember a little kindness goes a long ways to win and keep someone's heart.
4) Think the Best
Think the best of people. Generally they are not out to deceive, control or hurt you. Give them a chance to be real, to show you who they are, where they came from and what they are made of before you make a judgement about them. And for heaven's sake, don't gossip, slander or spread rumors about each other. Just go to the source and hash it out in love. Perhaps you will walk away alone, but perhaps not. "Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will destroy; No one who has a haughty look and an arrogant heart will I endure." Psalm 101:5
5) Offer your Heart
Be happy! Love! Dance! Give! Encourage! Seek to make someone's life better not heavier. As Yahshua said, "A new-in-quality* command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." John 13:34. As Israel is moving out of the nations, she has forgotten how to love. [Greek: #2537 kainēn="new-in-quality"]. Don't let this be your story. Obey Rabbi Yahshua and practice loving each other. A good way to begin loving another is to offer your heart, even if it costs you.
6) Use Honey
Be a royal and captivating invitation for others to understand how to repent themselves. Your goal is to ultimately point them to Yahweh and his Kingdom. But remember that you can attract a lot more friends with honey than vinegar.
SAGE ADVICE ON
(CONTINUED FROM "MAP")
7) Be a Person of Action
Let your actions speak louder than your words. Don't just speak about love and friendship, DO it!
8) Be Yourself, Be Real
Be authentic and don't fake it. You say, "potato" she says, "patato." It's all good. Yahweh likes the variety and so do we! Not everyone was made to like Messianic dance, perhaps you like to swing dance or ballet? :-)
9) Stay Loose
Don't be emotionally needy. Everyone is lonely in this movement and we need each other, but just as it wasn't healthy to be "needy" when you were dating (remember how it would scare her / him away?) so it will with new friends in this movement. Be wise. Take your neediness to your Creator.
10) Play together
Build your friendship on other things than just religious conversation and study. Do fun things together and build memories. Kinda like you used to do. :-)
11) Walk in freedom!
Remember that no one controls or owns you. You owe no man your soul. Most people in this movement need to be reminded that they are allowed to walk in their Creator-given freedom and say good-bye to leavened people, teachers or theories when they need to. Not everyone who is coming out of Babylon back to Yahweh will make a good friend for you. Not every teacher who is preaching is anointed by Yahweh. Not every new idea, theory or calendar should be listened to. You do not have to continue relationship with someone (be it in person or online) who is harming your heart just because they say they are on the "narrow path." The blood of Yahshua allows you to walk in freedom! Use it to make and keep friendships happy and healthy!
12) Get off-line and Get in Person
There is nothing as powerful or revealing as being in-the-flesh with another human being. Email, posting or texting is so problematic with making and keeping friends. So many fledgling friendships are cut off too soon because of the way a text was written or taken. We encourage you to get out of cyber-space and get in-person, even if it means getting in the car or on a plane to see someone -- just DO it!
