Many people are longing for the ancient ways. To us, they had it good. They lived off the land and sustained themselves. Yet, as with any kind of life (rural or city), frontier life had its challenges. Simple–in the nostalgic sense–doesn't necessarily mean easy. Unlike the present time, and in our ancestors favor, was the fact that everyone around was doing the same thing. Living a modern frontier life in the 21st Century is harder simply because we are somewhat alone and not only have to figure out how to deal with living 'off-grid,' but also what place 'on-grid' has in our lives. The two are constantly at odds with each other.
Yahovah took away everything and took us through a time where we had to lean on him for provision or we would have died. We have lived it.
A 5-minute flick made to sell Strawberry Mountain Farm.

FIRE, WATER, SHELTER, LOVE
By Rebekah Garvin
Many of us long to live in another century. A slower one. A simpler one. To us, it seems that our ancestors had a more authentic life connected to the land and the rhythm of nature. Many of us feel moved to get back to the basics, back to nature and back to gardening. We feel the urgency to get back to authentic spirituality, back to small government, back to real food and back to our roots.
Living off-grid makes little fun -- big joy! Our puppy has been a source of relief and joy (most of the time - LOL!)
All true Israelites will be taken to "the wilderness" for a time of proving. Do not loose heart. Endure. Persevere. Let Papa teach you what you need to know about him and about yourself. It won't last forever, but be patient and just don't grumble like our ancestors did. This might be your time of trouble. We were the children of misery for 4 years. Here is part of our wilderness story, not so much the why, but the how. Someday there will be a book -- perhaps a movie. :-)
