We must Believe in WHAT to be Saved?

When we were Christians we were taught that all we had to do to be saved was to "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved." But that's not what the Scriptures say. Sit with Isaac on a Shabbat morning as he unpacks what is meant by "believe on me and you will be saved" for his teenage daughter, Maggie.

We believe that the Scriptures tell us that the good news of the gospel is that restoration to the Father, YHVH Elohim is available through Yahshua, the Kinsman Redeemer. The gospel is not about a particular doctrine outside of Yah, but about his character and heart towards us.

The gospel is a message that communicates a clear picture of Yah’s character and heart. How does the Scriptures define what the “gospel” is?

  • Isaiah 40:9 "You who bring good tidings (gospel) get up into a high mountain... life your voice with strength and say to the cities of Judah,"behold your Elohim..."According to Isaiah the good news is beholding YHVH our Elohim.

  • 2 Corinthians 4:4 “….the god of this world (ha’Satan) has blinded the minds of those who do not believe the gospel lest the light of the glorious gospel of Yahshua who is the image of YHVH should shine to them.” According to 2 Corinthians 4:4 the gospel is the character of YHVH the Father seen perfectly in his son, Yahshua ha’Mashiach. In the image of Yahshua we see a clear and beautiful picture of who YHVH is. “If you have seen me you have seen the Father.” John 14:9. “His whole life and his climactic revelation of God’s character at the cross was all calculated to one end and that was to reveal the truth about God as opposed and up against the lies about God that have been communicated by the enemy of God and man.” –– Ty Gibson, "An Endless Falling in Love" live teaching at Gladstone Campmeeting, 2004.

Yahshua came for the lost sheep of Israel (the Scattered 10 tribes known as "Ephraim" or "Israel"). Among many things, his sacrifice pays the price for our sin of adultery against the Father, YHVH Elohim and allows us to come back be restored to our Father. The gospel and the call of the Scriptures is simple: REPENT and RETURN to your first love, Yahovah Elohim.
